Liberation Summer 2026: Culture as Power, Art Into Action, Joy Into Resistance

This summer, The Action Lab is bringing people together across New York City for Liberation Summer 2026, a season of performances, workshops, festivals, watch parties, exhibitions, and community gatherings rooted in culture, creativity, and collective resistance.

From World Cup watch parties with live music in Greenpoint, Bushwick, and Cypress Hills, to music festivals at Terraza 7, SALSACTIVISM in Astoria, the International Indigenous Hip-Hop Festival wheatpasting exhibition, the Youth Organizing Institute, and a free BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! concert with Common honoring the legacy of Harry Belafonte, Liberation Summer invites New Yorkers to gather, celebrate, learn, and take action together.

At a time when communities are facing deep political and economic pressure, Liberation Summer affirms what movements have always known: culture is not separate from organizing. Music, storytelling, art, food, and shared public space help us build connection, strengthen solidarity, and imagine the futures we are fighting for.

Explore the full Liberation Summer calendar and join us for upcoming events across the city.
