Analilia Mejía

Analilia Mejía was elected to the U.S. Congress in 2026, representing New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District. She is a seasoned political strategist and Afro-Latina grassroots organizer focused on building power with Black and Latinx working families.
Analilia previously served as Co-Executive Director of the Center for Popular Democracy and as Deputy Director of the Women’s Bureau at the U.S. Department of Labor under the Biden Administration, where she supported policies and programs for women in the labor force. A daughter of immigrants, she has dedicated her career to advancing a multiracial democracy and strengthening the leadership of communities that have been historically excluded.
She has also held national leadership roles in electoral and movement spaces, including serving as National Political Director for Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign, where she helped lead the campaign’s field strategy across key primary states. Earlier in her career, she was State Director of the New Jersey Working Families Alliance, a state affiliate of the Working Families Party.
