Favianna Rodriguez is an artist activist and the Founder and former President of The Center for Cultural Power, a national organization igniting change at the intersection of art, culture and social justice. Her work, influenced by the Chicano Movement and feminist art of the 1970s and 1980s, has been shown in California, New York, Texas, Chicago, Tokyo, and Rome. A few of her awards and honors include Emerging Leader award, Chicana Latina Foundation (2012), Creative Work Fund Award (2011), and she was the recipient of an Innovation Grant from the Center for Cultural Innovation (2011). She also co-founded the EastSide Arts Alliance in Oakland. She is a graduate of Skyline High School and briefly attended NYU.
