We are delighted to welcome** Angeles Solis** as **The Action Lab’s new Director of the Impact and Innovation Initiative! **Formerly at Make the Road New York, Angeles helped co-found the Fund Excluded Workers Coalition and led major escalations to pass a $2.1 billion relief fund for undocumented workers. Angeles led hard-hitting campaigns against wage theft and labor abuse at the city and state level and helped coordinate the citywide fight to block Amazon HQ2 in Queens.

Over the past decade, Angeles has spearheaded campaigns to improve conditions for workers in Amazon warehouses, garment factories, campuses, restaurants and more. She has been recognized as an Edna Berger Marks Awardee, 2021 NYC Rising Labor Star, Bertha 2021 Fellow, CORO Alumni, Emergent Strategy Institute Fellow, and is a member of the Workers Rights Consortium Board and the Cornell School of Industrial and Labor Relations Worker Institute Advisory Council.

Angeles has roots in Albuquerque and across the West Coast. She comes from a big family, loves riding her bike around New York City, cumbias, and sopapillas.

On Thursday, November 20, the Empire State Campaign for Child Care, a partner of The Action Lab, held a press conference and rally on the steps of City Hall to release key recommendations for making Universal Child Care a reality in New York State.
