The Art of Purpose is a transformative program designed to help community organizers deepen their leadership through the integration of political education and embodied practice. By weaving these components together, participants will cultivate a dynamic understanding of themselves, their relationships, their organizations, and the world, for the sake of making intentional change on all these levels.

After a wonderful spring cycle, we are accepting applications for the fall cycle of programming, which will run from September 24 to November 20, 2025.

Here is a list of outcomes that participants in Art of Purpose can expect to walk away with:

  • increased agency and choice in their actions, including under pressure;
  • concrete skills in communication, coordination, mutual accountability, and solidarity, enabling organizers to lead more effectively;
  • a deepened practice of analyzing themselves, their relationships, and society, to foster a more integrated and dynamic approach to organizing and (intentional) change;
  • community and connection with fellow participants and their organizations; and
  • the ability to apply the above towards a more vibrant life and greater impact in their organizing.
