To celebrate the one year anniversary of Sunnyside Salsa events, on November 22, we hosted an evening of mambo y gozadera at Alewife Brewing. The event was co-sponsored by Hands Off NYC and the Solidarity Organizing Initiative. At the event, leaders from the Solidarity Organizing Initiative shared an important message about how to answer darkness with light and end brutality through solidarity. Tunes were spun by DJ RAFA with his hand-picked selection of salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton y dembow! The evening also featured live salsa by our favorite band Conjunto Los Chachos, and cool and authentic Loisaida legacy merch.
