Our Dismantling Racial Capitalism series continues! Join us on Thursday, April 28, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Snow Dining Room (in Vanderbilt Hall) 40 Washington Square South for a powerful conversation with Kelly Lytle Hernández, Alex Rivera and Hae-Lin Choi.
In this event, the historian Kelly Lytle Hernández and the filmmaker Alex Rivera will discuss the relationship of racial capitalism to the current siege on migrant communities and its historical antecedents. They will also highlight the long tradition of resistance against immigration controls, with the aim of imagining a pathway to a more just future. The event will feature clips of Rivera’s current film project, Banishment, which is inspired by Lytle Hernández’s writing.
